Sandra McIntyre is the director of the Mountain West Digital Library, a collaborative of memory institutions in the Mountain West region of the United States. MWDL’s search portal, at http://mwdl.org, provides free access to over 800,000 resources from 123 partner organizations, including academic libraries, public libraries, museums, archives, historical societies, and government agencies, counties, and municipalities in Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, and Hawaii (coming soon: Montana!). MWDL is a program of the Utah Academic Library Consortium and a service hub of the Digital Public Library of America. It is hosted at the University of Utah J. Willard Marriott Library, where Sandra directs a team of three.
Sandra earned a bachelor’s with honors in philosophy from Swarthmore College and a master’s in science education from Georgia State University. Previously, she was the program manager for the Health Education Assets Library at the UCLA School of Medicine and research director for a private nonprofit organization. From 1992-2002, she co-founded and managed McIntyre Interactive, an educational courseware company that created interactive online training programs for educational institutions and corporate learning environments.
